Topusko, Rain, and a Cookout!

We had another free day because it was Sunday, so we explored more of Croatia. We got to go to the Topusko thermal springs, which was a short bus ride away from Gvozd. We went to the bus stop quite early, and while we were waiting, it was sunny and warm. However, as we kept waiting, we could see in the distance that dark storm clouds were coming our way. We waited for at least an hour and a half, and the bus STILL didn't show up! We were all a little confused and tired of waiting, so Adelita called the company and we found out that the bus had broken down just down the road from us. We also found out that there was another bus on it's way, and it should be there within the half hour. Finally, the bus shows up, we all get on, and ride to Topusko. The town was very, very small, but we had to walk about 10-15 minutes from the bus stop to get to the hot springs. After we stripped down to our suits and were ready to get in the water, it started POURING. Despite this, the majority of us jumped in the pool and swam a few laps in the water.
The biggest pool wasn't the warmest, so we decided to try out another pool, which WAS warmer, but it was full of old men and women. HA! So we hung out in the pool for a little bit, even though it was still raining. My favorite part, besides the pools, were the adult size teeter-totters - they were SO FUN! I had to use a tree stump (don't ask me where I found it) and used it as a step to get on.
It didn't look like the rain was going to let up - there wasn't one patch of blue in the sky, so we decided to call it a day.
Luckily for everyone, it cleared up when we got back to the Japanese house - there ended up being a beautiful sunset, sky, and a double rainbow :)

When we got back, we had to get ready for a party because Sonja, another volunteer at Suncokret, was having a cookout for us! Such good food! Good beer! Good times! :)
